THE BUCKHAM BOOT
-HAND CRAFTED IN FLINT MICHIGAN-
Sutorial is a small scale boot and shoe company where every step of the process is performed by us here in Flint, MI, using the highest quality materials, sourced as close to home as possible.
In the spring of 2012, Tim apprenticed under a shoemaker in Southeast Pennsylvania. In 2013, he came back to Flint to open a custom shoe-making and repair shop on Buckham Alley in Flint’s downtown district. Now, the major focus of the shoe shop is producing handmade boots and shoes. If you are interested in ordering boots, please call 810.309.8063. I can explain any questions you may have and take your order over the phone. You are also welcome to come to the shoe shop and take a look at the boots or simply order from our commerce section.

We have designed a classically styled derby boot that is made from the best materials with the highest quality construction. Every step of the process, from cutting out the leather by hand to stitching the welt, is performed by us here in our shop. We utilize a 360 degree hand-welted construction, which is generally considered o be the premium method of construction for boots and shoes. They are made to last and are constructed in a way that the soles can be replaced.

The lessons will cover everything from design, pattern making, upper sewing (closing), all the way to finished shoes and will continue for roughly 10 weeks. Though some parts are difficult the process is really fun, and at the end you will have a pair of shoes that you made with your own hands!
Individual instruction is $30/hr ($90 per session)
2 students $25/hr ($75 per session)
3 - 4 students $20/hr ($60 per session)
It will cost roughly $600-$900 total for classes
The only other cost would be for the shoe lasts ($100) and any leather used (around $100)
Contact us by email or phone and let us know what time works for you (Monday night or Sunday afternoon), what size class you would like to be apart of (1-4), and what kind of shoes you would like to make. Depending on the number of students who sign up, we will seek to accommodate all of your preferences. Also, please email us back with your phone number so we can schedule a time for you to stop in the shop and get measured up for shoe lasts.
